Balrog; When We
First Met TheMelodie: The 12 Days of Christmas
When we first met the Balrog, our Magic-Users cast
a volley of Feeblemind spells
In the second melee round, the Balrog hardly flinched from
two Lightning Bolts and a volley of Feeblemind spells
In the third melee round, we tried to stamp it out with
three Polymorphs, ...
In the fourth round of fighting, our Wizards conjured up
four elementals, ...
In the fifth melee round, the Balrog did not flee from
five vorpal blades, ...
In the sixth melee round, the Thieves backstabbed with
six poison daggers, ...
In the seventh melee round, the Balrog did shrug off
seven Flesh-to Stones, ...
In the eighth melee round, the Clerics did attempt
eight Heal spells, ...
In the ninth melee round, the Dwarves did not hit with
nine plus three hammers, ...
In the tenth melee round, our Druids did their best with
ten deathly fingers, ...
In the eleventh melee round, the Wizards tried again with
eleven Power Word Kills, ...
In the twelfth melee round, scattered on the field were
twelve Lords-a-running,
eleven dead Wizards,
ten Clerics Recalled,
nine burrowing Dwarves,
eight vanished Elves,
seven Hobbits hiding,
six Thieves in shadows,
FIVE SECONDS TOO LATE,
four Henchmen bleeding,
three calls to gods,
two dying gasps,
and a Balrog smiling with GLEE!
